Davaar House: A Harmony of Heritage and Natural Elegance

Built in 1876, Davaar House had been derelict for over a decade. This award-winning restoration has preserved the building’s traditional charm while introducing contemporary elements, creating a luxurious day spa with consultation rooms, a yoga studio, and a café. Every detail of the restoration has been meticulously planned and executed, resulting in a space that radiates peace and wellbeing.

The interior design, expertly curated by One Rundle Trading, features our Herringbone Seagrass Runner, chosen for its durable, natural fibre and timeless texture. Perfect for high-traffic areas like hallways and yoga spaces, this runner complements Davaar House’s blend of heritage and modern elegance, providing a subtle coastal aesthetic while supporting the spa’s serene atmosphere.

This project design by Anthony Donato Architects and built by Marshall Brougham has been nationally recognized, winning both the State and National Australian Institute of Building 2024 Professional Excellence Award for Commercial Construction (projects valued $2–25 million).

Whether you’re seeking inspiration for heritage restoration, natural fibre flooring, or luxurious interiors, Davaar House demonstrates how thoughtful design and natural materials like seagrass can elevate a space.
